To save the splendour of the Yorkshire Dales and The North Pennines landscape of national character from inappropriate industrialisation by preventing the development of a wind farm with 20 x 200m high turbines. This ecological haven, set in a beautifully wild, biodiverse natural corridor contains peatland full of historical heritage and must remain intact for future generations.
We strongly oppose the proposal and plan to develop 20 x 200 meter (656 foot) high wind turbines, with all the associated industrial scale infrastructure by the developer Fred. Olsen Renewables on Barningham & Holgate & East Arkengathdale Estates (owned by the Milbank and Torstenson families). The site borders Arkengarthdale, The Yorkshire Dales National Park & The North Pennines National Landscape- a UNESCO Global Geopark . We aim to save the destruction of a national landscape, a restored peatland, an ecological haven and a wild biodiverse corridor which is home to 24 Red listed birds as well as important sites of pre-historic rock carvings.
